Lewis Hilsenteger from Unbox Therapy shows us the new Elite x2 with Intel® Core™ m7 Processor – HP’s premium business level answer to Microsoft’s Surface. In fact, he can barely take his eyes off it, leaving the other two-in-one contender with hardly a second glance!
The Elite x2 earns several cools in a short space of time, including the fingerprint reader for its added security, the self-healing Bios for its IT friendliness and the quality front and rear cameras for video-conferencing.
He particularly likes the way the magnetic keyboard slips out of the frame, which then becomes the kickstand for the Elite x2 in tablet mode. The ergonomic keyboard can be re-attached flat or at an angle. He also observes that it has really positive ‘travel’ when you type. “It isn’t mushy or flimsy like some other stuff out there”. An important point if you spend a lot of your day tapping away.
Just like the EliteBook Folio (another premium HP business machine that he particularly likes), the Elite x2 undergoes military-grade testing. It has been dropped from 91cm onto wood and from 51cm onto concrete. Ouch. While the kickstand has been endurance tested through 10 thousand cycles. In short, it’s the ultimate device for busy mobile workers. Especially accident-prone ones!
