Since July 2015, Windows 10 has been offered as an upgrade free of charge to consumers and small businesses running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. This last ever version of Microsoft Windows packs an exciting array of productivity features and security updates to accommodate businesses both big and small.
Here, we take a look at some of the key security benefits your business can expect to make when upgrading to Windows 10 with HP1.
Brave security for a changing world
Real security is more than skin deep. Windows 10 addresses security from the inside out, with industry leading security applications. Microsoft is making the operating system more like something you would see on a smartphone or tablet and it's not just the front end.
By its very design, Windows 10 helps you avoid data corruption and ensures secure log in without the need for constantly entering passwords. However, when you pair Windows 10 with HP devices, your business security solutions will be maximized. HP business PCs combine style and cutting edge security with built in fail-safes to ensure your business is always protected.
Device protection, inside and out
The HP portfolio of the world's thinnest and lightest business devices now have extra security features built in, and they can be customized at the factory before delivery as well. Your devices are protected inside and out, first through the tough construction and second through software enhancements like HP BIOSphere with SureStart3. The industry's first, self-healing PC BIOS provides detection and seamless recovery, rebuilding your BIOS if it becomes compromised.
SureStart, when combined with Microsoft's innovative Device Guard, provides a new level of protection against viruses and malware. Additionally, new self-encrypting drives keep your data safe no matter what is thrown at them.
Protect your data
You can control access to business data with Enterprise Data Protection, which separately identifies corporate and personal data. Combined with HP TouchPoint manager2, businesses can use an HP Touchpoint Manager subscription to provide more control over devices and simplify common IT management tasks. This cloud-based app lets your IT administrator get real-time alerts, safeguard sensitive information, remotely lock or wipe devices, and respond to security threats quickly no matter where your devices are.
Windows 10 with HP, Working Hand in Hand
Some of the most important security features of HP devices are best realized through use of Windows 10, and vice versa.
With Windows 10 and HP employees can use their finger-tip or smartphone – for more secure authentication without writing a password on a sticky note. Multi-factor authentication takes advantage of devices with fingerprint readers3, like the HP ZBooks, EliteBooks, Elite AiO, and Elite Tablets and convertibles.
With multi-user authentication, you'll be able to ensure that the right employees have secure access to exactly what they need, regardless of how many employees and devices you manage.
If you're using HP devices, you already have the benefit of several advanced security operations. Why not add Windows 10 to the mix for the deepest level of security? You'll have a two-part authentication system with the touch of a button, and you'll be able to protect your data while on the move. Expand your protection and simplify processes by switching to Windows 10.
Rolling out a brand new OS can be daunting. HP understands that, and has an array of services to help you understand everything Windows 10 has to offer, prep your environment, implement the right solution, and recommend the best hardware.4 5
